C) Lake Wanaka, Arrowtown,Queenstown, Glenorchy, drive to Te Anau - 19th to 21st Oct

After leaving Kidds Bush, we all drove to Lake Wanaka and did some shopping and had coffee, then drove onto Arrowtown and had lunch by a stream. After wandering around Arrowtown, we proceeded to Queenstown Holiday Park Creeksyde for two nights. We went to town for dinner at a Vientnamese restaurant near the waterfront. The next morning we all walked to the Gondola, only to find the price was as steep as the mountain it was on, at $62 each, so instead walked back to our vans and drove to Glenorchy, about 40km along Lake Wakatipu, having lunch in our vans there. Wandered around Glenorchy then drove back to Queenstown, stopping at Bennetts Bluff and 12 Mile Delta, then onto the Lake Wakitipu Viewpoint in Queenstown. That night we walked into Queenstown again to have dinner at Blue Kanu restaurant. Next moring Bruce, Cathy, Angus & Robyn visited THL in Queenstown to get repairs done on our vans. Bruce and Cathy’s reversing camera repairs were unsuccessful. All of us then headed off on the long drive to Te Anau in preparation for the boat cruise on Doubtful Sound, and Kim & Mark for their 60km long eBike ride around Te Anau. However, while Cathy was driving a sudden blow out and tyre shredding event brought the drive to a sudden Stop. The others headed into town while Bruce and Cathy waited for Road Service and joined them later, temporarily without a spare.
